If you’ve been looking for the perfect place to take a jog or walk, go on a bicycle ride with the family, or even inline skate, the NCM Motorsports Park is opening the 3.2-mile paved road course on Tuesday evenings for Wendy’s Trek at the Track.
Wendy’s Trek at the Track sponsored by Graves Gilbert Clinic is free, and offered every Tuesday (weather pending). Please double check start times as some are pushed back to 5:30pm due to pre-booked track events.
The track offers light elevation changes and a number of configurations so that visitors can pick the length of their trek, as well as being wide with adequate space for slow or fast-moving trekkers. A large 22 acre flat paved paddock is also available for anyone doing speed work. The facility offers restrooms, showers, a Michelin inflation station and a picnic area at the Kimberlee A. Fast Pavilion. A second level viewing deck is available at both the Pavilion, as well as in the Holley Control Tower. Plenty of free parking is available, and the track is easy to access from Porter Pike, 505 Kimberlee A. Fast Drive, off I-65, exit 28.
Pets are also welcome as long as they are on a leash and owners clean up after their animals. Roller blades and roller skates are welcome, but anything motorized is not. Sorry, no skateboards. Skaters and cyclists are required to wear helmets.
