Introduction to High Performance Driving

High Performance Driving Education (HPDE)

The NCM Motorsports is full throttle when it comes to our passion for high-performance driving, and we want to share that enthusiasm with you!

Our safe, fun, and educational approach to learning allows you to advance your driving skills by progressing through tiered levels ranging from novice to advanced. In each level you will master fundamental skills that you can build upon at your own pace.

With a combination of classroom time and on-track sessions, the “rubber meets the road” quite literally for every participant, allowing you the opportunity to test your new knowledge and skills in a safe and controlled environment on our closed-circuit road course.

Our curriculum has been carefully cultivated and refined over many years by our staff professionals and includes the following masteries:

  • Vehicle dynamics
  • Car control
  • Cornering
  • Braking
  • Driving fundamentals

HPDE events have three student run groups: Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced. There is also an instructor group.

The National Corvette Museum has been hosting high performance driving events around the country since 2004 including Virginia International Raceway, Sebring, Autobahn and Thunderhill. We are incredibly proud of this legacy program and invite you to experience it for yourself at our nationally recognized road course!
